🧦 1. Understand the Sock Material & Printing

  • Fabric blend: 58% recycled polyester, 22% nylon, 15% cotton, 4% spandex, 1% rubber.

  • Printing process: Digital, 360° coverage, water-based ink penetrating fibres, no white ink, so designs must account for stretch and ink bleed.

2. Use the Sock Template for Seamless Designs

  • Download the official PSD/JPG template. It shows two sides for a sock pair, separated by seam guidelines.

  • Want a seamless full-wrap? Place your pattern across the “TOP” and continue across seam lines, if it doesn’t match, either leave margin or fully align.

3. Design Tips: Graphics, Colors & Fonts

Works well:

  • Bold, bright full-color graphics covering the entire sock.

  • Strong lines, avoid ultra-fine details that can disappear in the knit or stretch.

Avoid:

  • Thin, light-colored lines on dark backgrounds, they get lost.

  • Floating designs on white backgrounds, un-balanced and less visually appealing.

Font usage:

  • Light backgrounds: Regular font at ≥85 pt.

  • Dark/bright backgrounds: Bold font at ≥125 pt.

  • Cursive fonts ok for style only, but can impair readability.

Handling white areas:

  • White is the sock base, not printed ink. Large white areas are better; small white outlines on dark backgrounds will likely blur.

4. Extra Tips for Crisp, Wearable Designs

  • Apply a consistent background color across the entire sock to improve sharpness.

  • Expect colors to stretch/warp when worn, test-wear or visualise on the foot.
